QTIndu is excited to announce an exclusive one-day workshop developed by PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt) focused on the fascinating field of quantum sensor engineering.  

Taking place on 9 December 2024, this hands-on workshop will delve into the basics and real-world applications of superconductivity and SQUID (Superconducting Quantum Interference Device) sensors, providing a rare opportunity for immersive, practical learning.

  • 10:30 – Arrival 
  • 11:00 – 12:00: Visit to a magnetically shielded room 
    • Experience the world’s most magnetically silent room, designed to block even the faintest magnetic signals. Discover how this unique environment is used in advanced quantum experiments. 
  • 12:00 – 13:00: Lunch break 
  • 13:00 – 14:00: Introduction to superconductivity and SQUID sensors 
    • Gain a foundational understanding of superconductivity and how SQUID sensors are revolutionising fields such as medicine, engineering, and environmental science. 
  • 14:00 – 16:00: Hands-on training 
    • Conduct laboratory experiments with SQUID sensors and liquid nitrogen, exploring their behaviours and applications. 
  • 16:00 – 17:00: Discussion and closing remarks 
    • Engage with experts and fellow participants to discuss insights, explore practical applications, and deepen your knowledge of quantum sensors.
