SQuaD Symposium
The Quantum Communication Symposium Germany 2024 (QCSG24) took place from November 12th to 14th, 2024. It offered the quantum communication community the opportunity to come together and discuss the latest developments in the field.
Quantum education is an essential part of the success of quantum technologies and QTIndu participated in the industry exhibition to discuss opportunities and strategies for building a quantum-educated future workforce with all the relevant stakeholders.
Hands-on lab on magnetic field quantum sensors based on superconductivity at PTB Berlin!
QTIndu is excited to announce an exclusive one-day workshop developed by PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt) focused on the fascinating field of quantum sensor engineering.
Taking place on 9 December 2024, this hands-on workshop will delve into the basics and real-world applications of superconductivity and SQUID (Superconducting Quantum Interference Device) sensors, providing a rare opportunity for immersive, practical learning.
Quantum Technology Workshop in Hamburg
On the 27th of August 2024, QTIndu, in collaboration with Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), participated in the Quantum Technology Workshop in Hamburg. We engaged with top metrology institutes, exploring the intersection of Quantum Metrology and Quantum Technology through insightful presentations and interactive exhibits. Attendees experienced the latest quantum innovations and learned about QTIndu’s role in advancing quantum technology across Europe.
Quantum Technology – An Opportunity for Me?
On June 26th, 2024, MinacNed, with sponsorship from Quantum Delta NL, QTIndu, and High Tech NL, hosted an engaging event in Delft. The workshop, organised in collaboration with QuTech, QBlox, and TU Delft, was tailored for micro, nano, and semiconductor technology organisations. Attendees explored the impact of recent quantum developments on their industries and discussed how they can contribute to the quantum ecosystem. The event featured insights from key players in the Delft quantum community, offering a unique opportunity to understand and engage with the evolving quantum landscape.
Workshop: Ready for Quantum? Quantum Technology Skills and Competences in Hiring and Training
On June 11th, 2024, Aarhus University, as part of the QTIndu Project and funded by the European Commission, held a workshop designed to help business professionals navigate the emerging trends in quantum technology (QT) and its applications. Hosted in collaboration with BERLIN QUANTUM and Leap Berlin, this workshop equipped participants with strategic insights and tools to enhance recruitment, education, and training efforts in QT. The 2.5-hour session focused on defining job functions, identifying talent sources, and evaluating training resources, with a particular emphasis on the Competence Framework for Quantum Technologies and innovative tools like the GPT-job post writing service for quantum-related positions.
Workshop – Ready for Quantum? Commercial Quantum Readiness and Strategy
On May 28th, 2024, Aarhus University, as part of the QTIndu-Project and supported by the European Commission, presented the “Commercial Quantum Readiness and Strategy” workshop. Hosted by BERLIN QUANTUM and Leap Berlin, this in-person event was designed to guide business professionals through the emerging trends and essential resources related to quantum technology. The workshop focused on understanding the challenges and opportunities in the quantum landscape, helping companies navigate talent acquisition, technical complexities, and ecosystem development. Participants engaged in practical exercises to assess their organizational readiness and strategic positioning in the quantum sector.
20×30: Europe’s ADS Summit 16 of May 2024
In an era of rapid technological evolution, Europe’s competitive edge hinges on its ability to develop and maintain advanced digital skills. Facing a critical shortage of ICT professionals, the “20×30: Europe’s ADS Summit” emerges as a pivotal gathering to propel Europe towards its ambitious goal of adding 20 million new ICT specialists by 2030, underpinning the Digital Decade policy initiative. This free one-day event in Madrid unites thought leaders from business, academia, and policy-making to chart Europe’s journey in advanced digital skills. Featuring roundtables, keynote speeches, workshops, and showcases of best practices, the summit is a crucible for innovative solutions and strategic collaborations aimed at redefining Europe’s digital skills landscape.
Hannover Messe 22-26 of April 2024
The QTIndu project was thrilled to participate in Hannover Messe, the world’s leading trade fair for industrial technology. Hannover Messe is the most important international platform and hotspot for industrial transformation, showcasing excellent innovations and groundbreaking products. Our booth was a hub of activity, where we proudly presented QTIndu’s efforts in developing a harmonized short-term training program in Quantum Technologies tailored for industrial applications. Engaging with industry leaders and innovators, we highlighted our commitment to bridging the skills gap within the industrial sector and empowering enterprises to harness the transformative potential of quantum technologies.
Finnish Quantum Flagship
The Finnish Quantum Flagship, launched on March 27th, 2024, in Helsinki, is an ambitious 8-year project funded by InstituteQ’s organisations, including Aalto University, VTT, the University of Helsinki, and others, alongside the Research Council of Finland. The flagship aims to foster collaborations between research institutions and industries across Finland, Europe, and the United States, and to train and retain top talent in quantum technologies. Caterina Foti, an invited speaker from the University of Helsinki, presented QTIndu at the kick-off meeting, highlighting the courses being developed at the university as part of QPlayLearn, a key initiative within the flagship’s education agenda. Progress on QTIndu will be updated in future events under the Finnish Quantum Flagship.
3rd Nordic Quantum Life Sciences Roundtable
The 3rd Nordic Quantum Life Sciences Roundtable, held on November 14-15th, 2023, in Helsinki, brought together a multidisciplinary consortium of academia, healthcare, industry, and individuals to explore Quantum Life Science opportunities in the Nordic countries. Participants included representatives from AstraZeneca, Capgemini, Novo Nordisk, and Cleveland Clinic. Caterina Foti, an invited speaker and panelist from the University of Helsinki, represented the QTIndu project. The QTIndu team presented the project and its consortium partners, offering an overview of the courses being developed at the University of Helsinki, specifically designed to bridge the knowledge gap between quantum researchers and professionals in the life science and healthcare industries.
EU-US Frontiers of Engineering Symposium
The EU-US Frontiers of Engineering Symposium, held from October 15-18th, 2023, brought together early-career engineers from leading US and EU industries and government organisations. Participants explored advancements in Additive Manufacturing, Clean Hydrogen, Quantum Technologies, and Computational Life Sciences, aiming to foster multidisciplinary research collaboration. Caterina Foti from the University of Helsinki, representing the QTIndu project, was an invited speaker. QTIndu participated by presenting our project and showcasing the courses we are developing to train professionals in quantum technologies and quantum science.
European Quantum Technologies Conference (EQTC)16-20 October 2023
The European Quantum Technology Conference (EQTC) in Hannover was the vibrant epicentre of the European quantum community for an entire week. This prestigious event highlighted the core scientific and technological pillars of the Quantum Flagship and the broader European ecosystem, while also addressing global developments. Attendees explored the latest advances in research, industry, and policy. The conference offered dedicated tracks and ample networking opportunities, fostering new collaborations and facilitating the transfer of research-intensive technologies to European industry. Additionally, the exhibition area and start-up showcases provided a dynamic platform for innovation and industry engagement.
QTIndu Event in Stuttgart
On June 21-22, 2023, QTIndu hosted a pivotal event in Stuttgart, bringing together industry leaders and business partners. The focus was on clustering activities, where early course ideas were presented to business representatives with deep technological and business expertise. The goal was to gather valuable feedback to refine the strategic direction of QTIndu and to establish new business partnerships in the quantum technology landscape.
